Update: Information on the 95th Learn Reunion

This is the genealogy of my family traced back to:

Johannes Martinus LERNER, b. Dec 16,1719 in Katholisch, Heiligenstein, Pfatz, Prussia, (son of Caspari LERNER and Mariae Catharine Meyer) d. Jul 3,1781 in Indian raid, Tannersville, Monroe Co, PA, buried in field below Cold Springs, Tannersville, Monroe Co, PA, occupation Farmer/Innkeeper. Johannes was an Innkeeper of Learned Tavern, visited by Gen John Sullivan's Army (1799). The accommodations were very poor by reports. The Tavern marked "the last house on the road from Easton to Wyoming at the time, being situated in the Pokono Gap of the Second Mountain". The highest house in the area. The road was stony & rough with mud in some places. "Johannes & son,George were shot & scalped by Indians. Another son,John, shot an Indian. The Indians carried off George's wife & an infant,4 moths old."

For more details, please select a generation:

Note: Johannes Lerner is in the First Generation and I am in the Seventh Generation

I have started transferring all the genealogy information that I have received into HTML format, see below. You can also download raw the RTF version of the inforation here. More will be put online as time permits. I would like to taken Lucey for giving me this file from the research that she has done in tracing back our family history.

WOW! I have a lot of information about that Indian raid and Johannes Learn (Learner), who came from Prussia. My 3 gr-grandfater was John Learn, the one who shot the Indian. Are you interested in exchanging info? Karla>NEWELL>GIBBS>LEARN
