Hi, my name is Cindy. Thank you for looking at our website, and for your interest in who I am (flattered, thanks!). I met Matt in June 2004 - when I start showing up in pictures on this site
We found out about each other online, through Match.com, but we met at a restaurant Macado’s for our first date. Even though we discussed our mutual interest in digital photography, little did I know Matt would actually take pictures of me on our first date!!! I became a true “Learn Family” member on September 4, 2005 when Matt and I tied the knot. We currently live in Maryland and are a day’s drive from a majority of our families and friends. We have 2 cats and 1 dog, Jayna, Little One, and Nika.
Education & Career:
I am a 2004 graduate of Virginia Tech, BS in Chemical Engineering with minors in Spanish and Chemistry. During school, I participated in the Co-Op program where I worked for Celanese Acetate for a few semesters. After graduation, I worked for Alliant Techsystems for two years. Now I work for Edgewood Chemical Biological Center with the US Army on a team concerned with gas masks.
Photography:
My first camera was an early Kodak EasyShare model (point and click), which bit the dust in 2005. Matthew’s D100 was shared between us for a while, then he bought me a Nikon N75 film camera. I still prefer digital photography for the instant gratification and frugal factor! Since his purchase of the D200, my main camera is now the ol’ D100, although we mostly share the D200 so the camera bag has more room for lenses. For my most recent birthday, Matt bought me a Nikon Coolpix S7 so I have a purse-size camera to capture those spur-of-the/”Nikon” moments when we don’t have the other cameras.
Scrapbooking:
Oh yeah, I’m one of “those people” who love to scrapbook! I even have a Sizzix die cut machine… Hopefully I will begin logging my scrapbook pages in the gallery, finally giving ideas back to the web-scrapbook community from which I have taken many ideas already
Visit often for updates!
