Through Learn Studios, Matt & I had our first paid wedding gig on October 20, 2007. A lady that my parents know invited them to her wedding and said she still did not have a photographer lined up, so of course my mom suggested using us. We offered a price they could not refuse and we were in! The wedding took place at Green Hill Country Club in Salisbury, MD on a beautiful fall afternoon. The bright sun was a little problem, but hopefully the photos turned out well anyway! If you like our work, please pass our name along!

On June 23, 2007 Matt’s cousin Nicole tied the knot with her fiance Matthew in Englewood, FL. Our immediate family was fortunate enough to make the trek down to share in the celebration. Matt & I drove with the Schuetz family for 16 hours! Luckily due to a business trip, I didn’t have to drive 16 hours back… The wedding took place at St. Frances de Assisi Catholic church, the reception followed at the Blue Lagoon restaurant down the road.

It’s been 2 years since Matt and I tied the knot!!! Since we so wonderfully picked a holiday weekend to get married, we will forever (hopefully) have the opportunity to take a special trip to celebrate. This year Matt whisked me away to Chincoteague, VA for a beach retreat. We even borrowed his dad’s Mazda Miata to take the drive in convertible style. Due to the small trunk, we did have to sacrifice space for style, pack light, and refrian from purchasing too many souvineers! We rented bikes and rode trails, drove around the “Nature Loop” in the wildlife refuge, swam in the ocean for about 15 minutes, saw some wild ponies, and visited the town shops. It is a wonderfully quaint area that only gets really busy the last Wed & Thurs in July for the annual “Chincoteague Pony Penning“. We’re hoping to go back (with a bigger vehicle this time) and camp, ride bikes, and spend a little more time on the beach… with an umbrella!

For our neighbor Gabriel’s 3-month-old portraits, he was dressed in the cutest baptism outfit! Gabriel was baptized into the Catholic faith on Sunday, August 19th at St. Jude in North East, MD. I can already start to see the similarities in Gabriel with both of his parents, as well as notice the growth between the portait sessions we have taken each month. We’re looking forward to September’s 4 month session with Gabriel!
