Since I am considered a “High Risk” pregnancy, my OB requested I get a “Level 2″ Ultrasound performed. I don’t know the specific difference except that the technology used on Level 2 machines is more advanced and they can see and measure more than just the good ol’ machines in the doctors offices. Fortunately the ultrasound doctor wants to see us every month to check on the baby’s growth and progess. They did a whole bunch of measurements to determine it is in fact a healthy baby, and stopped to show us the gender, which I guessed because of what I was seeing! I enjoyed watching him kick and move his arms honestly more than finding out the gender… He is still due on July 13, 2008!

We have approximately 153 days (who’s counting?!) to ready ourselves for a precious new family member, so today Matt and his dad started making the necessary changes. We are converting one of the 2 closets in the largest bedroom into a laundry chute/conduit from attic to basement/doorway through to the master bedroom for easy baby-in-crib access! We will hopefully have the before/after pictures as well as a few during construction pictures for your viewing pleasure… I am seeing this just as you are, since I am on a business trip this week! I leave for a week and work gets done? Hmmm… makes one wonder why I don’t step out for a spa weekend or something more often

Melissa is a friend I met freshman year at Virginia Tech, a fellow ChemE who has since become a doctor and is getting married on March 15th! Last Saturday, she had a bridal shower with a “girl’s party” following the festivities. Matt was awesome enough to drive me down to Richmond early in the morning Saturday, and back home that same night… hanging around Circuit City and Panera (free wifi) all day!!! I got to meet all the important ladies in Melissa’s life, and really get to know 5 of her closest friends when we proceeded to Williamsburg Winery and the outlet stores following the shower luncheon. Congratulations Melissa!
