46 days until “D” day (give or take of course)! With everyone’s help, the nursery has finally transitioned from a guest room/storage area to a nursery! There are still some areas of the walls that need a little TLC, and the closet needs emptied, but the furniture is in and the room is mostly decorated. Once we figure out a name (most likely will be in the hospital for those of you wondering…) I’d like to hang his name in wooden letters on the wall. Both Nika and Little One have already enjoyed a nap on the monkey rug, haha.

32 weeks along (53 days to go!) and our baby boy is approximately 4 lbs, 15 oz! We had another Level 2 Ultrasound done yesterday, probably only one more before he’s born… He was not very cooperative so no 3D images this time. She went into 3D mode for us, but I agree, nothing she was able to see resembled enough of a face to make it worth printing :-/ She even had me turn on my side to see if the baby would move a little for us! No dice… he was comfy
He’s starting to run out of room to move around, so his movements might get less frequent, but that’s normal. At least he’s at a healthy weight for his age, his heartbeat is normal (she showed us the 4 chambers pumping, man is that crazy cool!), and everything looks good.

54 days to go (plus or minus, hopefully more minus than plus!), and we’ve finally got the nursery painted and the first part of the border in place. We wanted to make sure it stayed put before we went and did the rest of the room, especially the 15 ft. wall where any border issues will be very noticable. We might still need to paint the furniture, as it does have green accents - but the green might not be a pretty shade in comparison. The closet/laundry chute area could use another coat of paint, and we still need to lay the carpet back in that area, but we are almost there! Next month we should be done… but then it’s time to fill it with STUFF ![]()

Took some new pictures of our animals the other day. Got some cute ones of Little One with that “who, me? I’m not doing anything….” look in her eyes. Nika couldn’t care less whether I took her picture or not. And Jayna and Little One have discovered my faucet and that it’s easy to drink out of when it’s left on at a trickle… Ever since the day they were both miserable at the vet, their personal space has decreased and they were actually drinking out of the faucet together! You can even see both of their tongues ![]()

My friend Meg and her husband Jim recently welcomed 2 Basset Hound puppies into their family (which includes them and a rescued cat named Abby… short for Aberdeen where she was found!). The puppies are both girls, born on 1/1/08 - which makes figuring out their age very easy. The mostly brown-headed one is “Hazel” and the mostly black-headed one is “Dixie” (my favorite, but don’t tell Hazel that…). They come over to visit Nika and run around the back yard. The yard is a tad too big for them, and after running the whole length twice it’s time for a nap, which poses a new problem - it’s very difficult for their short little legs to manuever the stairs easily. Dixie has it figured out, but it takes Hazel a little while to scale the massive flight of 7-8 steps ![]()
